ISB® PORO Module Family

The ISB® PORO Module Family comprises building blocks made of porous concrete with a density ranging from 300-600 kg/m3. Various lightweight concrete production technologies worldwide, devoid of any additives, serve as suitable local basic materials for producing a range of ISB® wall and ceiling panels of different thicknesses.

Wall Structure

The wall features a two-way, perpendicular ribbed reinforced concrete structure. Consisting of uniformly thick vertical and horizontal ribs, the structure’s stiffness varies due to differences in reinforcement. The thickness of the reinforced concrete wall structure is 10 cm, with ribs spaced 20 cm apart and a rib width of 5 cm. Typically, the wall is supported linearly, with fixed support at the bottom, freely rotating in the floor plane, or partially restrained.

The structural stability of buildings created using the ISB® Building System is provided by the reinforced concrete grid formed within the building elements.

Ceiling Structure

The ceiling structure comprises a ribbed reinforced concrete slab with two-way perpendicular ribs. While the structure maintains a uniform thickness in both directions, the stiffness varies due to differences in reinforcement. The height of the reinforced concrete structure ranges from 20-22 cm, with a top plate thickness of 3-5 cm. Ribs are spaced 20 cm apart, with a minimum rib width of 4 cm. Similar to the wall, the ceiling is typically supported linearly, with fixed support, freely rotating, or partially restrained.

Installation Process

During wall construction, wall elements are placed on the prepared mortar bed using external flexible adhesive during the first row’s construction. Following the first row, a 50 cm long, 8 mm thick concrete spike is placed in the mortar every 60 cm where wall elements meet. Horizontal wall reinforcement is then placed over the wall elements at 20 cm intervals, supported by 25 mm concrete spacers, with horizontal reinforcement placed every 2 rows.

After completing the first 5 rows of the ISB® frame, vertical wall reinforcements are placed in the channels formed during the assembly of structural elements. The frame is then poured with C30/37-04/F4 quality self-compacting micro concrete, with end closure of the wall achieved using wall elements of the same quality as the ISB® building elements. The assembly of individual elements is secured using aerosol polyurethane adhesive.

Following the completion of the wall structure, the ceiling structure is constructed. Pre-prepared panelized formwork is used for ceiling elements according to the prepared ceiling plan. ISB® ceiling reinforcements are then placed, extending 15 cm over the wall structure, where they meet the vertical wall reinforcements. The resulting ceiling structure is poured with C30/37-04/F3 quality micro concrete, with a height of 25 cm.
